EDUKASI TENTANG PENTINGNYA GIZI OLAHRAGA PADA ATLET BASKET KURSI RODA

Abstract

Atlet harus memahami pentingnya gizi olahraga karena berdampak pada kesehatan dan performa lebih khusus pada atlet basket kursi roda. Pengetahuan gizi olahraga seperti peran zat gizi makro, zat gizi mikro dan weight management menjadi bahasan utama dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan ceramah dan FGD serta dibantu dengan media leaflet pengaturan gizi atlet basket kursi roda. Edukasi ini dilakukan secara online selama seminggu dan diakhiri dengan post-test bersama para atlet. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, meningkatnya pengetahuan gizi olahraga dengan indikator nilai diatas 70 (cukup). Diawal kegiatan ini, masih banyak yang belum memahami peran zat gizi terhadap performa namun setelah kegiatan ini atlet mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan tepat. Oleh karena itu, melihat pentingnya peran zat gizi ini melalui edukasi gizi olahraga bagi para atlet basket kursi roda perlu untuk ditindaklanjuti dengan indikator lainnya seperti komposisi tubuh dan asupan gizi
